Keynote Speaker I


Prof. Chin-Chen Chang (IEEE Fellow)
Feng Chia University, China

Professor C.C. Chang obtained his Ph.D. degree in computer engineering from National Chiao Tung University. He's first degree is Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and master degree is Master of Science in computer and decision sciences. Both were awarded in National Tsing Hua University. Dr. Chang served in National Chung Cheng University from 1989 to 2005. His current title is Chair Professor in Department of Information Engineering and Computer Science, Feng Chia University, from Feb. 2005.
Prior to joining Feng Chia University, Professor Chang was an associate professor in Chiao Tung University, professor in National Chung Hsing University, chair professor in National Chung Cheng University. He had also been Visiting Researcher and Visiting Scientist to Tokyo University and Kyoto University, Japan. During his service in Chung Cheng, Professor Chang served as Chairman of the Institute of Computer Science and Information Engineering, Dean of College of Engineering, Provost and then Acting President of Chung Cheng University and Director of Advisory Office in Ministry of Education.
Professor Chang's specialties include, but not limited to, data engineering, database systems, computer cryptography and information security. A researcher of acclaimed and distinguished services and contributions to his country and advancing human knowledge in the field of information science, Professor Chang has won many research awards and honorary positions by and in prestigious organizations both nationally and internationally. He is currently a Fellow of IEEE and a Fellow of IEE, UK. On numerous occasions, he was invited to serve as Visiting Professor, Chair Professor, Honorary Professor, Honorary Director, Honorary Chairman, Distinguished Alumnus, Distinguished Researcher, Research Fellow by universities and research institutes. He also published over 1,100 papers in Information Sciences. In the meantime, he participates actively in international academic organizations and performs advisory work to government agencies and academic organizations.

Prof. Mianxiong Dong (Foreign Fellow of EAJ)
Muroran Institute of Technology, Japan

Mianxiong Dong received B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from The University of Aizu, Japan. He is the Vice President and Professor of Muroran Institute of Technology, Japan. He was a JSPS Research Fellow with School of Computer Science and Engineering, The University of Aizu, Japan and was a visiting scholar with BBCR group at the University of Waterloo, Canada supported by JSPS Excellent Young Researcher Overseas Visit Program from April 2010 to August 2011. Dr. Dong was selected as a Foreigner Research Fellow (a total of 3 recipients all over Japan) by NEC C&C Foundation in 2011. He is the recipient of The 12th IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Young Researcher Award 2017, Funai Research Award 2018, NISTEP Researcher 2018 (one of only 11 people in Japan) in recognition of significant contributions in science and technology, The Young Scientists’ Award from MEXT in 2021, SUEMATSU-Yasuharu Award from IEICE in 2021, IEEE
TCSC Middle Career Award in 2021. He is Clarivate Analytics 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023 Highly Cited Researcher (Web of Science) and Foreign Fellow of EAJ.

Prof. Hoshang Kolivand
School of Computer Science and Mathematics, Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool, UK

Hoshang Kolivand is an Assoc. Prof in AI and Mixed Reality at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU). With an MS degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science and a PhD and a Postdoc in Augmented Reality, he is a leading expert in these fields. As the Head of the Applied Computing Research Group at LJMU, Dr. Kolivand leads a team of over 35 researchers, focusing on AI and Augmented Reality. He has published extensively with over 170 papers in international journals and has presented at numerous conferences. Dr. Kolivand is a Senior Member of the IEEE and has served as a keynote speaker at more than 55 international conferences. He has organized over 30 conferences in AR, VR, AI, and HCI. In addition to his academic contributions, Dr. Kolivand has authored book chapters and several products which received over 14 awards for his work in Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality. As a dedicated researcher and educator, Dr. Hoshang Kolivand plays a significant role in advancing AI and Mixed Reality technologies, making valuable contributions to the field through his expertise and leadership.

 

Dr. Ching-Chun Chang
National Institute of Informatics, Japan

Dr. Ching-Chun Chang received his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Warwick, UK, in 2019. He participated in a short-term scientific mission supported by European Cooperation in Science and Technology Actions at the Faculty of Computer Science, Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg, Germany, in 2016. He was granted the Marie-Curie fellowship and participated in a research and innovation staff exchange scheme supported by Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, New Jersey Institute of Technology, USA, in 2017. He was a Visiting Scholar with the School of Computer and Mathematics, Charles Sturt University, Australia, in 2018, and with the School of Information Technology, Deakin University, Australia, in 2019. He was a Research Fellow with the Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University, China, in 2020. He is currently a researcher with the National Institute of Informatics, Japan. His research interests include steganography, forensics, biometrics, cybersecurity, computer vision, computational linguistics and artificial intelligence.
